Reachgood PMP claims to be thinnest ever

CATEGORY: Gadget News | SOURCE:

Every once in a while, you have to ask yourself: What is the smallest Portable Media Player? What is the thinnest? Then you have to wonder: why do I care? After all, it is about size or shape, or having the most memory, thereby storing the most video and audio footage.

It appears that a company known as Reachgood Digital Manufacture Limited, one that I never heard of and can’t imagine how they arrived at that name, has created the thinnest PMP at 5.5 millimeters.

Sure it’s thin, but what can it do? Well, it has a 1.8 inch 260k color TFT screen, an FM tuner, gaming support, voice recorder, and USB 2.0 connection.

Actually, there is one from Brando that is thinner, but does not do as much as this skinny guy which has yet to have a name. This particular nameless PMP can support MP4 (AVI), WMA, JPEG, and TXT support.

I see a little resemblance to the iPod. Even though it doesn’t have a Click Wheel control, the buttons look like they have some Apple resemblance. However, you got to like the faux gold plated exterior, a much cooler look than iPod white, black, or any color.

I have to admit that I don’t really see a need for a thinner iPod, and who knows where this is all headed. Maybe one day we’ll all have PMPs that will be like credit cards, and will give us some serious cuts every time. Of course, how in the world are you going to insert the headphones or USB cable?
