RCA goes where no iPod has gone before
Wirelessly - for it’s headphones that is. And it’s long been the holy grail of mp3s. iPod fans have been looking for years to the first iPod with this feature, but with each new generation, the prospect of it has eluded the Cuptertino faithful. Well, RCA has broken new ground with their JetStream player which incorporates Kleer wireless technology into it’s earbud headphones.
The 1GB player can broadcast wirelessly to the oversized earbuds from as far as 30 feet away.
Which means that you can leave that mp3 player in your gym bag while you work – and rock – out.
And not just at the weights. Imagine being able to listen a John Wooden audio book while your taking the ball to the hole in an game of shirts and skins! Or playing golf while listening to a podcast on how to shoot under par? And you won’t have to compete with wire that connects your tunes to your ears. And when you’re done listening to your favorite mp3s, the FM radio tuner can take over.
Additionally, the Jet Stream comes with a built in stop watch, body mass indicator, pedometer, and Calorie counter, as well as armband, wristband and synch software. But what I think is really cool about the JetStream is that it comes with not one, but two sets of headphones (one wireless, one wired – what’s up with that?). That means that you don’t always have to work out alone or stay within a few feet of your partner in order to jam with the tunes.
Colors come in Pearl, Opal and Jet Black. But only 1GB? Come one, guys, get in “touch” with the MP3 world.
Available this month for about $140
