Projection Telephone better than caller ID

CATEGORY: Gadget News | SOURCE:

I’m not certain who would need the projection phone, as its main feature and selling point are not too stellar.

You see, when the Projection Telephone receives a phone call, the device will use its power-saving light to project the number on the ceiling or the wall.

I suppose that could come in handy when your family is sitting around the dinner table and you get a phone call. You can then see the number, and if it is one you don’t recognize, let the machine get it.

Of course, this is going under the assumption that you even have a land-line phone in your house. I mean, I just keep a cell in my pocket so I can just look at it and it will tell me what number is calling. That’s a pretty standard feature.

Couldn’t we make it so this Projection telephone can project something like, I don’t know, the face of whoever is calling? While we’re at it, can we get it to project in 3-D? Pretty soon, we are getting Star Wars technology as Princess Leia tells us to “Help me, Obi-wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope”.

Until then, the Projection Telephone seems pretty obsolete. However, I have to admire the fact that the projection telephone is pretty cheap at $29.15.
