MARK makes the perfect light for nighttime readers

CATEGORY: Gadget News | SOURCE:

MARK

I’m something of a bookworm. While I don’t read nearly as much as I did when I was a child, I still won’t go to bed without reading at least a couple of chapters. One of the things I hate about reading in bed is that I can never find the perfect light that’s bright enough to let me read, yet dim enough that it lets me really relax. I’ve tried the little LED ones that clip on the book, but they’re still really bright and go through batteries like nothing else. However, one look at the MARK bookmark tells me that I’ve found exactly what I’m looking for.

The MARK uses FOLED technology, which stands for flexible organic light emitting diodes. Think of your standard LED, but in something flat and flexible like a thin piece of plastic. The MARK seems to be the perfect application for this technology. The light produced is just enough to properly illuminate the page underneath it for reading, but not bright enough to light up the whole room.

Unfortunately this design is still in the concept phase. I can certainly see this becoming a polular product if it is ever put into production. Lets hope that someone decides to do just that.
