Creative Japan introduces the SoundBlaster X-FI Audio Notebook

CATEGORY: Gadget News | SOURCE:

Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook

I have always found it annoying that geeks in Japan get way cooler technology before the rest of the world, and sometimes exclusively.

And with the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook for your laptop, is likely no different. the English translation may be a bit spotty, but from what I gather from it, the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook is the first sound card which corresponds to ExpressCard™/54 extended module standard for notebook PCs. It will provide the same stunning Dolby 7.1 surround sound audio enjoyed in the XiFi Xtreme line for desktops and uses the X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity audio technology. That includes the X-Fi Crystalizer™, which promises to reconstruct sound quality that is lost due to MP3 compression, as well as the X-Fi CMSS®-3D technology which makes experiencing a movie in Dolby 7.1 surround sound almost an identical experience on headphones as it is with actual speakers.

Vista compatible, it also features 24 bit analog in/out capability for its four line in/out and microphone jacks.

The ExpressCard/54 slot “Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook” will be sell for about 13,000 yen ($108.00 USD) and comes out late this month. But the 7,667.52 Yen question is, however, when will the rest of the world get to enjoy it?
