China Mobile may offer Android handsets next year
I just wrote a few hours ago about the possibility of Android phone goes Asia through Taiwan’s Chunghwa Telecom – country’s largest operator, according to the Taiwan News.
But now, I got another clue: China Mobile Communications (China Mobile), the largest operator of mobile communication services in China, may take the initiative to offer Android handsets in the China market.
It’s make sense that China Mobile, among mobile telecom carriers in China, is the only one to join the Open Handset Alliance (OHA), the main backers of Android.
Moreover, the Android handset possibly to support China’s TD-SCDMA 3G standard, the country’s standard of 3G mobile telecommunication.
Please take a note that China Mobile will also bring iPhone 3G to that market, but without 3G and Wi-Fi capabilities (due its incompatibility with China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA 3G standard).
